I wear a lot of hats—therapist, teacher, published children's book author, and maybe one day, I'll have my own guided meditation on the CALM app, give a TED Talk, or even become a college professor. Who knows what's next! My love for learning keeps me energized and fills my days with purpose and happiness. It literally feels like I never work a day in my life! No matter what role I'm in, the common thread is that I love helping others get where they want to go.

The inspiration for what I do began early in my teaching career. I was hired to work with a student who had ADHD. Seeing his resilience, sparkling eyes filled with determination, and how he thrived with a bit of support and guidance was truly inspiring. It made me want to create more positive change, and here I am, on the path of helping those who want to help themselves.

In my downtime, you'll find me staying active—whether it's exploring new craft classes or having deep conversations about social issues. But enough about that; let's backtrack to my training and get the formalities out of the way.

I've been an ADHD coach for five years, working at two different clinics where I hired, trained, and led my own team of ADHD coaches. My dream of becoming a therapist took shape when I realized my clients needed more than coaching alone. I started my psychotherapy training while working full-time, and now, 2.5 years later, I'm here, ready to offer the best level of care to my clients.

My path to therapy began in education, where I saw the impact of compassionate support firsthand. After two years working in the field of education in Spain, I pursued further training—a postgraduate diploma in guidance studies and a master’s in counselling psychology—to better support emotional well-being and development.

I have experience working with children, teens, and adults with ADHD, and have additional training to support neurodiverse clients, including those on the autism spectrum. I’m especially passionate about helping clients build emotional regulation and executive functioning skills in a way that feels supportive and empowering.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to. Outside of sessions, I love reading, taking long walks, and connecting with others through meaningful conversation.

If you’re looking for someone who will meet you with care and curiosity, I’d be honored to connect.

Mariam Halimi Associate

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) & Education/Career Consultant

I’m an Educational Therapist & Student Support Specialist who loves helping students—especially neurodivergent kids and teens—find their path in school and beyond.

For over a decade, I worked in higher education, guiding students through applications, financial aid, course planning, and all the “behind-the-scenes” parts of college life. Along the way, I saw how overwhelming it can be to balance academics, life transitions, and emotional well-being—especially for students who learn and experience the world differently. That’s what inspired me to expand my work as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and bring the two worlds together. I also hold a Master of Education in Post-Secondary Studies, which deepens my understanding of how students learn, thrive, and succeed in higher education settings.

My approach is kind, down-to-earth, and collaborative. Every student deserves to feel capable, supported, and proud of themselves. Whether it’s breaking down a daunting task into manageable steps or finding calm during stressful times, I walk alongside students and families to make sure no one has to figure it all out alone.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me cooking up new recipes, curled up with a good movie, or spending time with my cats. 🐾
